1 Wryneck at Bonchurch, (slope above Horseshoe Bay)

"Ian R. found it Monday (29th am). It's at the head of the small valley which runs (E-W) just to the south of the fort and can be quite 'showy'.
It spends most of it's time in one small area, feeding on elder-berries. (Best seen from mid-morning to early afternoon).
This morning, the bird was showing intermittently, along with a Firecrest, and then spending long periods hidden in cover.
At lunchtime we got fantastic views, as it and a Blackcap, sat in the open feeding on elder-berries less than 20 feet away.
This is the first one found on the island since the 1980's"
